Type-K thermocouples are highly versatile. You can use them to measure exhaust temperatures (EGT), temperatures before and after the intercooler, cylinder head temperatures, water temperature, oil temperature, and much more. The best part is that all measurements are cold-junction compensated and offer an impressive measurement range of 0 to 1250°C with a resolution of 0.25°C (14 bits).

The TCC04 modules come with a practical four-pin DTM connector for CAN and miniaturized K connectors. They support the CAN 2.0A/B standard with flexible configuration, which means they are compatible with a variety of devices from other manufacturers.

But the highlight of the TCCXX models is undoubtedly their WLAN connectivity. You can easily configure, update your module, and retrieve real-time temperature data and thermocouple status using your smartphone or PC.

Configuring the devices via WLAN is a breeze:

CFE18 - Can Switchboard

CFE18 - Can Bus Switch Board CFE18 stands for "Can Bus Function Extension," or colloquially, "Can Switch Board" - why do you need this module? Can Bus connections in your vehicle can sometimes pose significant challenges. Especially in motorsport applications, when electronics need to be housed in the steering wheel, and information from turn knobs or push buttons needs to be transmitted via Can Bus. CANchecked now offers a small additional module that provides 17 inputs: 8 for switches (low side) and 9 for analog inputs (0-5V signal). A voltage converter for connection to a 12V automotive electrical system is also already integrated. On the board, there are also 3 low side switching outputs with a maximum rating of 0.5A. The CFE18 Hardware Measuring just 29x27mm, the board is very compact and can fit anywhere. The pin spacing is 2.54mm - for power supply reasons, it's 3.81mm. We have added a hole for mounting that can be used as a screw attachment. CFE18 - Can Bus Termination A solder jumper is present on the board. If you close this jumper, the Can Bus termination with 120 ohms is activated. By default, the solder jumper is OPEN. Motorsport Steering Wheel An application could be a motorsport steering wheel. In the image, you can see the approximate size, with the steering wheel hub being 50mm in diameter. With just 4 connections via a spiral cable, various inputs can be transmitted via Can Bus. Connection Options With the CFE18, you can connect switches as well as Trimpots (adjustment knobs). But sensors such as oil pressure, fuel pressure, boost pressure, exhaust backpressure, and integration into a custom enclosure are also possible. Digital Outputs The CFE18 has three digital outputs. These can carry a maximum of 500mA and switch to ground (LOW SIDE). For this purpose, you send a Can Bus Frame every 100ms (CAN Id is configurable here - a timeout is activated after a 500ms pause between frames, and the outputs are deactivated): (0=inactive, 1=active) AIN Smoothing If the analog inputs fluctuate too much, they can be smoothed using software. This is individually configurable for each analog input. With every transmission, the analog inputs are evaluated (default 20Hz). For example, if a smoothing factor of 4 is set, the average of the last 16 measurements is taken. This makes the value smoother but also responds more slowly to fluctuations. Finding a good balance is essential. The configuration is done via Can Bus.

Our displays are preconfigured for connecting the TCC01. Simply connect the signal to AIN2. Multiple TCC01 Modules Often, you may need two or more modules, such as in the case of twin-scroll turbocharger manifolds. Here, you can easily stack the modules together. Of course, when using multiple Type-K probes, you can also opt for our TCCXX series and directly write the measurements to the Can Bus. These are available as TCC04, TCC06, TCC08, and TCC10.

CBD08 - CAN Bus Distribution

CANchecked CBD08 - Can Bus Hub CBD08, short for "Can Bus Distribution" with 8 connections – why do you need this module? Connecting Can Bus devices in your vehicle can sometimes be quite a challenge. It involves elegantly routing and connecting Can Bus cables, providing power to devices, and finding a suitable way to terminate the Can Bus. Moreover, there's often a need for multiple Can Buses to cater to various requirements – like the drive Can Bus, comfort Can Bus, and a programming Can Bus (USB2CAN), among others. To address this very issue, CANchecked has developed a handy additional module with 8 connections. Each connection carries four wires: Can High, Can Low, 12V, and Ground. The CBD08 Hardware - Measuring just 96x47x33mm, the box is incredibly compact and can fit almost anywhere. The connectors are designed after the widely used DTM04-4P. Matching receptacles, DTM06-4S, can be optionally purchased to complete the setup. For installation, two holes are provided in the center, and you can use the two screws that come with it. CBD08 configuration options Under the lower cover, there are jumpers on the circuit board: On the left side, JP3 and JP4 connect both Can Buses together (Can Bus 1 and Can Bus 2). Removing both jumpers separates both Can Buses, each with four connections. JP1 activates Can Bus termination for Can Bus 1. JP2 activates Can Bus termination for Can Bus 2. The box can optionally be equipped with a 12V/Ground supply lead. This can then be tapped into by the other ports to power the end devices. However, devices with higher power consumption should not be powered through the unit. In such cases, connect them only using the Can Bus lines and establish a separate power supply. If you opt for the default configuration, all 8 Can Bus connections are interconnected and both Can Bus Termination resistors are aktivated.
